Starts at 8:30 am we will set out from your hotel. We will drive to Rozafa Castle so we can visit the grounds as well as the museum inside the castle. Along the way, you will experience fantastic views of Shkodra Lake and the Lead Mosque.
As you walk along the 4th-century Illyrian walls, you will learn about the castle. You will become acquainted with its history, as well as the vivid legend of Rozafa. Also, you will get to know more about how the ancient inhabitants withstood various occupations.
An impressive beautiful castle that overlooks the city. Just a 200m walk uphill to see the gorgeous views it offers. Since the castle is very rich in history very little is shown in the information points around the castle so to enjoy and learn about the castle you will need a tour guide. The castle is built in various stages. But what makes it more interesting is the legend of the three brothers.
The three brothers built the castle but every morning they found it crumbled down. Until in a dream, an old man told them that if they really wanted to build the castle they had to sacrifice one of their wives. Moreover, the one who would bring food the next day. The next day the younger wife comes to bring food and they tell her the story. Since she had a newborn baby she decided to be sacrificed in one condition.
After your tour of the castle, you will visit the museum. The museum will shed light on every stone and ruin you have visited so far. Any questions you might have had throughout the tour of the castle will be answered. In addition to the story of the castle, the museum showcases artifacts from the Hellenistic and medieval periods up until World War I.

In addition you will get to know more about the people’s history and how they survived different occupations.The next stop is the museum that sheds light on every stone and ruin you have visited so far, giving answers to the questions you might have had throughout the tour. Finish off by soaking up the breathtaking views of Tarabosh mountain and Shkodra Lake and enjoy some free time to shoot pictures.
